Before presenting the different ranges, it is useful to clarify the meaning of the "/" that can be found in the EBC reference. Namely, if the reference of the pad ends with a /2 it means that it will be slightly thinner than if there is no / in the reference. This can be useful if you are using an adaptable disc that is thicker than the original one. On the other hand, if the part number contains /3, it means that the pad will be thicker than without the /, which is not very common at EBC, but ideal for example if your disc is already worn. In the case of a /4, it only means that it is a set of 4 pads! EBC set themselves apart from the competition with their range of Organic pads, surpassing the qualities of competing organic pads. Made of sintered metal, these pads have an ultra high friction, with the highest known friction index (between 0.6 and 0.7), which is why they are not suitable for use on the road or with road tyres, but are ideal for use with track/slicks tyres.
