A bit of history of the brand?

To do this, we have to go back to 1973, in the United States, with a group of brothers who were passionate about motorbikes, but also (and above all) about speed. Among these three self-taught mechanics, Mark Dobeck proved to have a real talent for setting.
During races, his talents did not go unnoticed. But by 1978, Mark had become so busy setting up for others that he no longer had time to ride for himself. So he decided to charge for his services, naming his new company Dynojet.

His first creation, carburettor adjustment kits (Jet Kits).
These kits, specific to each motorbike model, essentially took control of the air/fuel ratio, allowing riders to quickly obtain a better setting and therefore better performance from their motorbike, without having to spend hours carrying out disassembly/reassembly/testing before finding the optimum setting.

These Jet kits were a real success and Dynojet then wanted a way to verify the power gains provided by their settings. Unfortunately, the hydroelectric dynamometers of the time were too inaccurate, so in 1989 the company created the first inertia dynamometer, simulating road conditions with a rotating drum. The accuracy of its results made it one of the company's flagship products and made Dynojet one of the references in the world of settings.

Of course, Dynojet did not miss the arrival of fuel-injected engines, with the creation of the famous Power Commander in the end of the 1990s. Initially very cumbersome, the innovation allowing the ECU code to be rewritten quickly took the form of a compact electronic box as we know it today. It was at this time that the company opened its second R&D facility in Las Vegas.

With the success of the Power Commander, Dynojet went one step further in 2011, when it cracked the code of the ECU, and developed the Power Vision, which allows the original settings of a motorbike to be changed by updating the ECU program (known as 'flashing' the ECU)

In conclusion, optimising a vehicle's performance is a philosophy at Dynojet. More than a know-how for the brand, power gain is an obsession. The reliability of the products combined with the precision of the adjustments justifies the credibility and the worldwide reputation of the company.

THE POWER COMMANDER

The power commander is an injection setting box, which is connected in series between the injectors and the ECU of the motorbike, without any modification to be made for the connection because it uses the original connections of your motorbike, for an easy and fast installation.

It allows you to reprogram the injection parameters to obtain the best air/fuel ratio in order to optimise the engine's performance, whatever the engine speed and the throttle opening position.

The Power Commander allows you to obtain infinite adjustment possibilities without changing the original settings of the motorbike's electronic control unit, because once the unit is removed, the motorbike returns to its original configuration.

By installing a Power Commander, you will notice a marked improvement in the performance of your bike, with better acceleration and handling.
The basic mapping proposed by the Power Commander allows a good optimisation of the performance, but it remains studied for the engine of the vehicle on which the mapping was set by Dynojet during its development. So if you want to mount this Power Commander on another vehicle, you will have to modify the given mapping to really optimise its performance.
In any case, even if you use the basic Power Commander mapping, we advise you to call on a qualified professional tuner, such as our dear #Thornbikes, who will be happy to optimise the settings and provide you with the best possible mapping for your bike.

The difference with a Power Commander?

The + :

The simplicity, but above all, its price. The Fuel Controller is a less expensive alternative to a Power Commander, as its function is to optimise the air/fuel ratio by playing with the maps (also customisable, and with the possibility of using the same maps as those available for a Power Commander)

The - :

The counterpart of this reduced cost is the possible options. Indeed, the PCFC cannot be equipped with the optional accessories of the power commander, such as Autotune, Wideband, LCD screen, etc... This is the main difference, in addition to the more limited possibilities of adjustments.
